Production Manager - Native Plant Nursery

Salary: $65,000-$80,000 I Full-Time I Based in the Intermountain West

Join a mission-driven team focused on growing our own specialized genetics of  native plants for the Intermountain West.  We’re seeking a Production Manager to lead nursery operations in developing and implementing native plant production runs for multiple contracts, as well as running day-to-day operations.  This role is ideal for someone passionate about native species, horticultural excellence, and team leadership.

What You’ll Do:

The Production Manager will play a key role in developing and maintaining native plant production plans/runs for multiple contracts, as well as running day-to-day operations. The Production Manager is responsible for managing the nursery teams. The Production Manager is expected to have effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contract development and associated production plans/runs, accounting for species requirements, greenhouse space, staff, and seasonality
  • Oversee propagation, stratification, planting, and maintenance of native plant species in accordance with production plans/runs
  • Monitor the overall care of plants, including but not limited to irrigation, pest management, and fertilization
  • Oversee all aspects of seed production, including harvesting schedules, cleaning practices, stratification, storage, and inventory
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of teams to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, goals are met, and team members remain aligned and motivated
  • Client communication, including production updates, scheduling deliveries/pickups, and follow-ups

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Horticulture, Ecology, or related field
  • Familiarity with native plants of the Intermountain West
  • 2 years of experience in greenhouse settings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, Outlook)
  • Ability to work outside in all conditions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Team leadership or supervisory experience
