Program Assistant

Converse County Conservation District located in Douglas, WY

Introduction:

The Program Assistant is an employee of the Converse County Conservation District (CCCD) and is ultimately responsible to the CCCD Board of Supervisors.  Daily activities are under the supervision of the District Manager. An effective Program Assistant exhibits an outgoing, friendly personality, is excellent at communicating ideas to different audiences and enjoys networking between agencies.  The person must also be a team player willing to assist with any program of the CCCD.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and engineering assistance to District landowners
• Assist in development of conservation plans for district landowners applying conservation practices
• Maintain personal contact with District landowners and be able to explain the district programs to the public
• Assist with all other District programs as needed
• Performs other related duties as requested by District Manager
• Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance at work and related meetings, including some evening and weekend obligations
• Maintain good working relationships with local, state and federal government agencies and organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

The qualified Program Assistant should possess the following:

• Knowledge and experience with agricultural practices and natural resources
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Oral and written communication skills with landowners, government officials, cooperating agencies and the community

Computer, software and technological knowledge and skills expected of natural resource professionals including ArcGIS
