The Wasatch Mountain Institute provides high-quality school and community programs under the direction of the Program Director. The Program Manager will work under the Program Director in order to support and develop these programs ensuring that a high education standard is upheld. Additionally, the Program Manager will help develop and implement community programs and promote the mission of the organization within the community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between school administrators and teachers to coordinate scheduling of day and overnight school programs. This includes Winter SnowSchool, Fall/Spring Field Ecology Day programs, as well as Fall/Spring Overnight Camping programs.
- Work with Program Director to develop and customize curriculum and activities to meet school needs
- Communicate with JSP to ensure programming at Rock Cliff is able to be carried out safely, effectively and with the support of the park. Notify the park of all WMI programs via google calendar.
- Oversee care and maintenance of WMI gear needed for seasonal programming
- Work to develop community programs throughout the year, such as Kokanee viewing, star-gazing, and birdwatching
- Community Outreach including developing and implementing community programs, organizing and attending tabling events, helping to manage social media
Qualifications:
- Experience with nature connection mentoring, naturalist knowledge, outdoor living skills, and/or familiarity with past and present human relationship with the lands of this region (training and support provided)
- Ability to create a safe and nurturing program experience for all children and families, including those who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BiPOC), LGBTQ+, and/or disabled (training and support provided)
- Group management and safety skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Current or recently expired First Aid/CPR certification (subsidized by WMI)
- Ability to perform light-to-vigorous physical outdoor activity in all weather conditions
- Able to manage a team of instructors and schedule

- Must be over the age of 18
- Must be able to pass a background check
