Protection Program Field Coordinator

Join the Pangolin Conservation and Research Foundation (PCRF) in leading field-based conservation protection initiatives across Namibia. This role focuses on strengthening ranger systems, expanding protection programs, and supporting pangolin conservation operations in remote landscapes including the Waterberg, Nyae Nyae Conservancy, and emerging sites within the KAZA region.
Requirements and skillset:
- Minimum 5 years paid experience in conservation, wildlife protection, or environmental fieldwork
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Degree in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Wildlife Management, or related field preferred
- Experience working with rangers, conservancies or community game guards
- Strong reporting, administration, and operational coordination skills
- Familiarity with EarthRanger, GIS or conservation monitoring tools is a plus
- Valid driver's license with 4x4 experience
- Ability to work independently in remote field conditions
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead and expand the Pangolin Guardian Program
- Supervise rangers and field protection teams
- Coordinate protection operations across field sites
- Strengthen reporting systems and conservation monitoring
- Support implementation of EarthRanger and data management systems
- Develop and coordinate electric fence mitigation projects
- Facilitate training with MEFT, conservancies and partners
- Coordinate student, volunteer and donor field visits
- Build relationships with local communities, conservancies, and landowners
- Support regional protection expansion within the KAZA landscape
