Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary lead for senior-aged camper programming on the General Richardson Track at the Wildlife Education Center (WEC).
- Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and facilitation of senior programming to ensure engaging, developmentally appropriate, and mission-aligned experiences.
- Actively facilitate senior programs as needed, modeling leadership, professionalism, and strong participant engagement.
- Lead and facilitate ATV programming for senior-aged campers, ensuring strict adherence to all safety protocols, training requirements, and operational procedures.
- Serve as a primary shooting sports instructor for senior programming, ensuring compliance with SCWA policies, range rules, and all applicable safety standards.
- Ensure all ATV and shooting activities are conducted using best practices in instruction, supervision, and risk management.
- Monitor environmental conditions, equipment readiness, and participant ability to make informed, real-time safety decisions.
- Monitor camper behavior, group dynamics, and emotional well-being; address concerns proactively and appropriately.
- Assist with emergency procedures (injury, evacuation, weather events, equipment incidents, etc.) and ensure incidents are documented and communicated properly.
- Support and mentor counselors and instructors working with senior campers on the General Richardson Track.
- Communicate regularly with Camp Leadership and Program Leads regarding staffing needs, safety concerns, and program operations.
- Oversee daily inspection, safe operation, and proper storage of ATVs, shooting equipment, and related safety gear.
- Communicate equipment needs, maintenance concerns, and replacement recommendations to Camp Leadership.
- Ensure program areas are clean, organized, and prepared for daily operations.
- Support Camp Woodie summer operations, including evening programs, special events, and all-camp activities as assigned.
- Serve as an Outdoor Educator for Camp Leopold as assigned, supporting age-appropriate environmental education and curriculum delivery.
