Position: School Year Instructor (2026–2027)

Position Details:
Vida Verde Nature Education is seeking full-time School Year Instructors for the 2026–2027 season (August through early June). This role blends outdoor education, student support, and site caretaking in a residential environmental education setting.

Instructors lead 3-day, 2-night programs for 4th–6th grade students, facilitating activities such as redwood hikes, tidepool exploration, organic farming, goat milking, campfire programs, and night hikes. The role also includes meal facilitation, student supervision, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Driving a 20-passenger electric bus (CDL Class C with Passenger Endorsement required; support provided to obtain, must have valid US Drivers License to apply)
• Participating in weekly professional development and team meetings
• Completing site and farm-related caretaker duties (Mondays and periodic weekends)
• This is an active, hands-on role requiring long days during program (10–12 hours), working outdoors in varying conditions, and the ability to hike several miles and lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:

• $20/hour with CDL (38–45 hours/week, approx. $800/week)
• $18.00/hour without CDL until obtained (typically within 3 months)
• Housing provided (private bedroom in shared staff housing or yurt)
• Optional $200/month contribution toward health, dental, and vision insurance
