The Seasonal Conservation Crew for Georgia State Parks assists the Resource Management unit with a variety of land management objectives. The Primary focus of the job will be Rx burning on State Park or Partner's lands. Much of the work is fire line prep and assisting in the Rx burns either on ignition or holding. Other duties may include exotic plant control, native plant restoration, or Hemlock Woolly Adelgid work.
Applicants must be in good physical shape. Work can mean long days of physical work such as prepping fire breaks, Rx burning, and mop up. Applicants must be willing to travel from park to park as weather dictates where we burn, and also be willing to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
Training includes S130, I190 Wildland Firefighter Training, S212 WIldland Fire Chainsaws, first aid/CPR/Stop the Bleed.
Job will run from December 1 - May 15. Housing and Vehicle are provided for crew, and travel stipend is available.
