• Check comfort stations for cleanliness and supplies and fulfill janitorial duties as required
• Operate various hand tools and gas and electric power tools and equipment
• Assist park staff in the daily operation of the park, including special projects. May perform minor repairs on vehicles, equipment, park facilities and spot maintenance on campsites
• Some construction work conducted for repairs and special projects
• Provide information services to visitors regarding use of facilities, fee payment, permits, campground regulations, surrounding areas and other state parks
• Assist park staff with collecting fees, selling passes, and with reservation procedures and counting money for deposits
• Assist in delivering interpretive and educational programming
• Work with volunteers on a variety of tasks and projects
• Other duties may include cleaning grills, digging, painting, carpentry, welding, watering trees and shrubs, pruning and weed control, facility maintenance, litter pickup
• May be asked to drive a state vehicle (once the park manager has obtained permission from the General Services Department, and if possessing a valid NM Driver’s License after successfully completing the nationally approved Defensive Driving Course)
• Duties are subject to change based on the park’s specific needs
• Seasonal Staff shall not perform any duties, which the public may construe as law enforcement.

General Qualifications or Special Skills:

Willingness to work with staff, volunteers, and park visitors. Must maintain a positive image when dealing with the public. Knowledge or experience with basic maintenance and use of power hand tools is preferred but not necessary. Must be safety conscious. Current Driver’s License is required.
