Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to preserving rare and endangered waterfowl. Alongside our conservation efforts through our captive breeding program, we are also committed to providing a connection to nature and conservation to our community.
Job Summary
Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy is seeking a friendly and customer-service-oriented seasonal visitation attendant to join our team for the 2026 visitation season! This role will be responsible for overseeing the check-in process of our guests under the supervision of our office team. As a visitation attendant, you will oversee the handling of payment transactions, welcoming visitors to our facility and explaining the work of Ripley, assisting/working alongside volunteers and providing an inviting experience to our guests!
Responsibilities
- Greeting guests warmly and in a professional manner upon arrival
- Provide information about our organization, programs, and memberships
- Process payments accurately using a point-of-sale system (square)
- Oversee and assist volunteers on shift
- Tracking attendance and other measurable metrics during visits
- Open and close guest check-in and merchandise booth
- Answer phone inquiries and respond to guest questions and concerns
- Ensure compliance of Conservancy rules and regulations among peersand visitors
- Assistance with scheduled events
- Complete other duties, as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
This position is a weekend shift: Applicants must be able to work both Saturday and Sunday. Optional hours on Friday are offered but not required. Hours are 9:30am-4:30pm.
- At least 18 years of age
- Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday. Optional hours on Friday offered
- Reliable transportation
- Experience in handling cash and operation of a point-of-sale system accurately
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time during all conditions
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Experience in customer service
- Passion for conservation and birds
- Current CPR/First-aid certification preferred but not required
- Background check and drug screening are required upon hiring
- Minimum High school diploma or GED equivalent
Compensation
- $18/hour
