Seasonal Research Assistant

We anticipate three Seasonal Research Assistant positions available to assist with invasive agricultural pest
surveys with the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) program. Duties include setting and retrieving
insect traps to specified locations, following established protocols, data entry and verification, and preparation
of specimens. This position requires work outdoors, in all types of weather, and may involve walking for up to
one hour and driving for up to four hours in an entire shift. A background and course work in the natural
sciences (entomology, natural resources, biology, etc) is preferred. Experience with insects is desired but not
necessary; training will be provided. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills,
ability to take direction and work independently, and be familiar with Microsoft Office. A valid driver’s license
is required.
The position is available from May 1st, 2026 through October 31st, 2026 with variable start and end dates. The
salary is $17/hr for 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday. To apply, interested candidates should submit by
