This position is based at our Headquarters office located at 715 P Street in Sacramento, CA, and works under the guidance of the Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor (Coastal Programs).

California State Parks is launching a new Coastal Resilience Team dedicated to advancing sea level rise adaptation and strengthening resilience across coastal parks statewide.
As part of this collaborative team, you’ll work alongside specialists with diverse expertise to support coastal adaptation efforts, integrate climate-focused approaches into policies and operations, and provide technical support to parks. Together, the team will help embed resilience principles into all aspects of coastal park management.
In this role, you will:
- Support the development and maintenance of department-wide policies and guidance addressing coastal hazards and adaptation strategies
- Help develop cost estimates and tools to strengthen the resilience of natural, built, and cultural resources against sea level rise
- Conduct site visits and contribute to project development and policy recommendations
- Develop and manage datasets, technical tools, and planning resources to support coastal resilience efforts
Occasional travel may be required. A valid driver’s license is needed when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
This position is telework eligible and office-centered, offering a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work.
