JOB OVERVIEW
Performs professional, managerial hydrological/hydro-geological duties relating to environmental restoration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Geologist.
Or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Extensive knowledge of the regulations, principles, practices, and methods of hydrology/hydrogeology including soil and groundwater contamination.
- Ability to understand the operation hydrological/hydrogeological soil/groundwater monitoring equipment, including contamination monitoring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering plans and reports.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate data and to develop logical conclusions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below.
- Develops, implements, and administers the policies, procedures, and directives necessary to manage hydrological/hydro-geological projects in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Conducts, evaluates, and approves hydrological/hydro-geological ground water monitoring plans and studies for siting of land uses to include land excavations, mining operations, landfills, and public construction projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Performs hydrological/hydro-geological calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations; and prepares hydrological/hydro-geological reports and recommendations.
- Investigates and monitors wells, land excavations and selected construction sites for water and soil quality compliance as defined by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Serves as technical advisor, senior project coordinator, and/or manager for hydrological/hydro-geological projects to ensure compliance with accepted hydrological/hydro-geological practices and regulations.
- Prepares and presents hydrological/hydro-geological reports to the BOCC, County management, and the public.
- Supervises assigned professional and support personnel as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
