The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), a California state agency, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Scientist for our Regulations Unit.
- The Regulations Unit coordinates within the entire department on a wide variety of regulatory proposals (marine protected areas, hunting, commercial and recreational fishing, etc), so there's always something new to learn!
- Note: this position is posted as Limited Term (12 to 24 months), but has the potential to become permanent.
This position functions as a coordinator who leads diverse Department teams, liaises with the California Fish and Game Commission (Commission), and provides procedural, regulatory, and scientific support to subject matter experts. We seek qualified applicants to join our Unit as a Senior Regulatory Scientist (Senior Environmental Scientist, Specialist) to coordinate unique teams across CDFW’s programs, who develop and review regulations to manage and conserve fish and wildlife populations, including for harvest and resource protection in accordance with established procedures.
