Appalachian Headwaters Spring 2026 Internship (Part Time)
This is ideal for a student enrolled in a remote learning program looking for hands on experience, a student who can take a semester to gain hands on experience while taking courses remotely or community to campus from Lewisburg, WV for course work during the internship.

Monday February 9th- Friday April 24th: 10 Weeks (flexible on start and end dates)
- 15-20 hours a week scheduled M-F, or weekend hours for events
- Up to $2,000/ term (based on hours worked) with on-site housing provided
Students will be expected to be on site during general work hours 8AM-4PM M-F, at least 30 days out of the 10-week period based on student class schedules.
*Student will be off for University Holidays and Spring Breaks
Interns will work directly with Dr. Collins and Dr. Saladyga, as well as other Headwaters staff as required. Must be able to hike in rough terrain and all-weather conditions and lift 50lbs.
Students will be expected to complete a project over the course of their internship. This can develop as a research poster, technical report, or outreach/educational materials based on interest.

- Camera trap monitoring, data entry/management, photo ID
- Education Event Planning and Logistics/Assistance
- Social Media Curation
- Amphibian Monitoring Surveys
- Bird Box Surveys and Installation
- Bird Pt Count Surveys
- Invasive Plant Removal and General Grounds work
- Habitat Monitoring and Improvement Projects
- Literature Reviews
- Plant Surveys
- Greenhouse Planting and Prep Work
