Position Summary

The Sr. Application Development and Support Engineer performs complex professional work in systems development designing, implementing, supporting, and enhancing solutions supporting functions and processes in service to corporate business partners in Finance, Human Resources, Legal and other miscellaneous business units. They review and analyze business requirements for projects with a wide range of complexity at varying levels of impact to organization-wide initiatives. They contribute to the design of solutions, document technical specifications and implement those solutions following TNC project delivery and software development methodologies leveraging industry best practices.  This position will serve as technical lead and mentor for modernizing the processes for application development and solution delivery.  This position will serve as the technology lead on business sponsored projects as well as application maintenance projects related to upgrades, conversions, and modifications.  They will perform tasks assigned as required to deliver projects and maintain applications in operation providing support for production problems as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field and three years of experience in programming and systems design.
  • Experience and expert knowledge of SQL server, Transact-SQL, SQL performance Tuning, ETL processes and relational database systems modeling.
  • Experience designing tables, database models, developing and optimizing stored procedures, views and functions for business rule application and report generation.
  • Experience with Visual Basic, XML, .NET and use of API frameworks and web services (RESTful and/or SOAP) for application integration.
  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies and processes, Scrum and Kanban in particular, as well as knowledge and experience with CI/CD, release/configuration management, version control practices and toolsets such as: Jenkins, Ansible, CloudFormation, Bitbucket & Git.
  • Experience with the systems development life cycle, software development frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience analyzing complex system-wide technical specifications and interfaces, debugging applications programs, and producing effective user and technical documentation.
