PLT is seeking a full-time or 3/4-time Stewardship Specialist to provide administrative, management, and on-the-ground support to the land stewardship and land acquisition efforts, including in the areas of conservation easement stewardship and fee title land management.  The employee will work as part of a team of land management (aka “stewardship”) staff and will be supervised by the Stewardship Director. The job is about 80% office work, and about 20% field work. Occasional evening and weekend work (less than once a month) is required, and frequent travel throughout Placer County is required. The position is being offered at either a full-time non-exempt salaried position with a salary range of $52,000-$59,000, or a part-time non-exempt position (as low as 0.75 FTE, 30 hours/week) with a pro-rated salary range. Annually PLT offers 13 paid holidays, accrual of paid vacation starting at 13 days, and accrual of paid sick time at 10 days. PLT contributes to the cost of group health insurance available to PLT employees. When the employee becomes eligible per IRS rules, PLT starts and contributes to the employee’s 403b retirement program. PLT offers ongoing training and professional development.

We are looking for someone with proven ability to excel in an office environment, using technology and working both independently and with team members and organizational partners on land stewardship agreements, special grant projects, and reporting. Based in Auburn, CA, Placer Land Trust (PLT) is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1991 that works with willing landowners and conservation partners to permanently protect and care for natural and agricultural land in Placer County. To date, PLT has protected over 22,000 acres of land in Placer County for current and future generations. Our protected lands include woodlands, forests and rangelands, waterways and lakes, habitat corridors and wildlife preserves, parks and recreation areas, scenic vistas, and farms and ranches.
