Love public lands, community engagement, and working outdoors? Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument is hiring a 2026 Seasonal Stewardship Technician based in Escalante, Utah. 

This hands-on position supports stewardship-based volunteer projects that connect people from diverse backgrounds to the Monument while caring for its land, water, and cultural resources. Working closely with the Escalante and Kanab Stewardship Project Coordinators, the Stewardship Technician helps plan and lead field-based volunteer events such as site cleanups, restoration projects, trash removal, visitor outreach, and Trail Ambassador activities. Responsibilities also include teaching Leave No Trace and Visit With Respect principles, preparing and managing field gear, assisting with data collection, backcountry cooking, and working safely in rugged, backcountry environments.
