The research technician’s main task is to enter historical, hand-written datasheets into an existing USGS database for the project: “Historical habitat uses by Coregonus artedi in the Upper Great Lakes and critical embayments”. Other tasks include data management, document preparation, and miscellaneous office assignments. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to co-author a manuscript for scientific publication.

We are seeking an individual who can work 20–40 hours per week.  Pay is $14.99 per hour, but includes no benefits.  Funding is available for about 1,000 hours.  The position will be based in 1451 Green Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105 and a tentative start date is the middle of September, 2018.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be hired under a student services contract.  Hence, the applicant must either be a currently enrolled student who has completed at least one year in college or have graduated within the past 12 months.

The applicant must have basic knowledge on biology and environmental science and must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.  Ideal candidates should have some understanding about the Great Lakes and possess an interest in restoration of native fish species.
