About Us
The Rewilding School connects kids and adults to the natural world through hands-on skills and outdoor learning. Programs are offered in partnership with land conservation organizations and serve families, preschoolers, school-age kids, teens, and adults.
Position Overview
We are seeking passionate educators to join our Wild Summer programs in Croton and Mount Kisco, NY. Educators work with children ages 6–12 (grades 1–6), guiding them through ancestral survival skills, imaginative fantasy adventures, and direct nature exploration. Teachers create a safe, supportive, and exciting environment that allows kids to thrive outdoors. Some travel between locations may be required, with employee preference considered.
Schedule & Commitment
- June 22 - August 28, 2026
- Full-time, 40 hrs/wk, Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Locations: Croton-on-Hudson & Mount Kisco, NY
Job Duties
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of participants
- Lead engaging, nature-based activities and explorations
- Manage daily routines (drop-off, pick-up, materials prep)
- Foster a safe, inclusive community for learning and play
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors
- Support program setup, cleanup, and materials organization
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ year experience working with youth outdoors
- Able to work 100% outside, lift/carry up to 40lb, and walk 1 mile
- Strong passion for nature and child-centered learning
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Effective communication with children, parents, and coworkers
- Basic knowledge of NY flora/fauna
