Do you want to serve your community while protecting the environment and getting professional experience with a land conservation nonprofit?

Whether you are passionate about conservation, land access, or sustainable agriculture, TerraCorps is here to help you serve local communities and build professional skills through transformative experiences.

TerraCorps is an AmeriCorps affiliated nonprofit preparing and mobilizing the next generation of emerging leaders committed to making a difference at the community level. We do this by partnering with a network of nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island focused on community needs related to local land conservation and sustainable farming. These partners act as service sites for a new cohort of AmeriCorps service members annually. Service members are paired with a site supervisor who provides guidance and mentorship while they learn to manage community programs and projects in one of 5 coordinator positions:  Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC), Sustainable Agriculture Coordinators (SAC), Land Stewardship Coordinators (LSC), Youth Education Coordinators (YEC), Land Conservation Coordinator (LCC).

Farming Falmouth is interviewing candidates for a Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC). The CEC will engage with the Executive Director to manage volunteers on community service projects, educate or train individuals in environmental stewardship or environmentally conscious practices, and complete two capacity building projects. Potential projects include:

  • Expand volunteer engagement through outreach, corporate partnerships, and community events while supporting sustainable agriculture projects that increase food donations, expand year-round growing capacity, and strengthen farm volunteer management.
  • Community Engagement for Youth Programming, supporting field trips, youth education, and off-site engagement.
  • Expand volunteer recruitment, coordination, and community outreach to support educational programs, service gardens, food distribution efforts, and public events through improved communications, database management, and day-of volunteer support.

This is an in-person, 8-month position. It does not offer a remote or hybrid schedule.

Due to the December 7, 2026 start date, preference may be given to local candidates who currently reside within commuting distance of the organization.
