Do you want to serve your community while protecting the environment and getting professional experience with a land conservation nonprofit?
Whether you are passionate about conservation, land access, or sustainable agriculture, TerraCorps is here to help you serve local communities and build professional skills through transformative experiences.
TerraCorps is an AmeriCorps affiliated nonprofit preparing and mobilizing the next generation of emerging leaders committed to making a difference at the community level. We do this by partnering with a network of nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island focused on community needs related to local land conservation and sustainable farming. These partners act as service sites for a new cohort of AmeriCorps service members annually. Service members are paired with a site supervisor who provides guidance and mentorship while they learn to manage community programs and projects in one of 5 coordinator positions: Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC), Sustainable Agriculture Coordinators (SAC), Land Stewardship Coordinators (LSC), Youth Education Coordinators (YEC), Land Conservation Coordinator (LCC).
Brewster Conservation Trust is interviewing candidates for a Land Stewardship Coordinator (LSC). The LSC will engage with the Land Stewardship Director to manage volunteers on community service projects, educate or train individuals in environmental stewardship or environmentally conscious practices, and complete three capacity building projects. Potential projects include:
- Support land stewardship and conservation efforts through updating and creating land management plans, conducting conservation restriction monitoring visits and boundary marking.
- Implement land management plans through the facilitation of the design and construction of a trailhead parking area, trail link, and trail signage to promote public access and support habitat restoration activities.
- Expand community engagement and volunteer participation by leading educational workshops and outreach programs, including organizing an Arbor Day tree planting event.
This is an in-person position. It does not offer a remote or hybrid schedule. Preference may be given to candidates who currently reside within commuting distance of the organization
