Rainbow Treecare (A division of Rainbow Companies) is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Tree Care Crew Leader to oversee daily field operations and ensure high-quality service delivery. This role involves supervising a production crew, maintaining clear communication with clients and arborists, and executing tree care tasks using rope, saddle, and aerial lift techniques. The ideal candidate will uphold safety standards, conduct site assessments, manage equipment and vehicle inspections, and support the development of junior staff. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to protecting client property are essential.
This is a full-time weekday position based out of our Minnetonka, Little Canada, or Burnsville location.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and supervise a production crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of tree care operations.
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service, maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication between management, consulting arborists, and crew members.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of rope and saddle techniques, as well as aerial lift equipment, for tree care tasks.
- Provide management with timely and accurate feedback on completed jobs, including crew performance and site conditions.
- Monitor and document safety violations, policy infractions, and inappropriate behavior, taking corrective action as needed.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current ANSI standards and company policies, ensuring compliance across all operations.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate safeguards to protect crew members.
- Enforce safety standards consistently to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
- Support the development of less experienced staff, including ground crew and climber trainees, through coaching and mentorship.
- Communicate equipment breakdowns promptly to the Fleet Manager to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure accurate job-site time tracking and effective time management to optimize crew productivity.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Field and Climbing Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Class D driver’s license
- Must successfully pass DOT Physical Examination upon hire
- CPR and First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Crew Lead Experience
- Class A Driver’s License
- ISA certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is performed outdoors in any weather element throughout urban and rural areas. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and hazardous tools and equipment; during which safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time.
