Surrounded by state and national forests, Cantrell Creek Trout Farm is located in the mountains of western North Carolina. The Trout Stocking Technician position involves preparing, loading, transporting and stocking trout in private game waters throughout the region, while living in one of the premier outdoor recreation areas in the country.

The ideal candidate is someone who likes working outside, in and around water, with people and trout, travelling throughout the mountains to places few people get to see, doing fun, laid back and rewarding work.

As part of the farm staff, this position reports to the Production Manager. The farm raises three species of trout, and provides live haul stocking for a wide variety of customers.

Job Duties: The Stocking Technician carries out deliveries, which involves: prepare, capture, load, transport and stock live fish. Drives and maintains the farm fleet of trucks. Interacts with the customers. Represents the farm while out on deliveries. Technician also supports farm manager in production and maintenance of farm, including hatchery, as needed.

Technician will be expected to lift materials weighing up to 75 lbs, work in and out of doors, in and around water in varying climatic conditions. Must have a clean driving record, excellent driving skills (automatic and manual transmission) and background check. Mechanical/plumbing skills a plus.
