Howard EcoWorks is an environmental nonprofit based in Howard County, Maryland and serving the greater Baltimore region. EcoWorks is addressing climate issues through environmental restoration, while providing pathways to career opportunities in the green industry. EcoWorks is currently accepting applications for UpLift Crew Member and Crew Leader positions.

About the Program: UpLift is a 10-month workforce development program designed to launch careers in the green industry. This is a full-time, paid, seasonal position where participants gain training and experience in stormwater management, sustainable landscaping, and conservation practices. This program is supported by and in partnership with the Maryland Corps / Service Year Option. 

Program Details:

Seasonal full-time job, expected 40 hours/week

• End Date: June 11, 2027

Position Overview: UpLift participants work as a team on hands-on environmental projects that improve communities and natural spaces, including:

• Installing and maintaining green stormwater solutions such as rain gardens and native landscapes.
• Restoring streams, removing invasive plants, and cleaning parks and waterways.
• Supporting community outreach, environmental education, and disaster preparedness efforts.

Additionally, participants gain hands-on training, professional support, and career exposure throughout the program. Through the program, they can earn industry-recognized certifications while building practical skills in the field. Through partnerships with Maryland Corps / Service Year Option and the Maryland Climate Crew Network, participants also receive coaching, networking opportunities, and career exploration events.
