Job summary: We’re looking for a video and photo intern to join our remote team. You’ll support our environmental initiatives by telling visual stories and editing videos and photos to create compelling content for web, emails, presentations, events, and social media. We're a small nonprofit that collaborates with many top environmental and conservation organizations in Virginia. Perks include opportunities for field work and portfolio-ready samples with real-world impact.
Sample projects:
- Identify and coordinate video and photo stories that support our initiatives
- Capture video and photos of walks, workdays, site visits, and events for communications use
- Organize and enhance existing video and photo files to create clips and reels for communications
- Review webinar recordings and create compelling clips and reels of activities for education and outreach
- Contribute practical and innovative ideas to enhance communications efforts
Requirements/skills:
- US work authorization
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in environmental and conservation issues
- Experience with and access to video production and editing tools
- Ability to identify compelling moments and tell a clear visual story
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- 1-to-1 meetings weekly
Education:
- Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in film/video production, multimedia, communications, broadcast journalism, or a related program
Minimum time requirements:
Summer, 20 hours a week for 8 weeks
Academic term, 10 hours a week for 15 weeks
