The Collin County Soil & Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for a watershed operation and maintenance technician.  This dedicated and experienced individual will manage operations of flood control dams and coordinate maintenance activities across multiple soil and water conservation districts. This role involves conducting inspections, submitting maintenance proposals to the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, working with contractors and inspecting completed projects on/around flood control dams. The ideal candidate will have a pesticide applicator’s license or be willing to obtain one. Drone experience is highly desirable, and the candidate must be willing to obtain a remote pilot certification if not already certified. The position requires travel between multiple districts and the ability to work in various weather conditions with the physical capacity to lift 50 lbs. Qualified individuals will have either an associate’s degree with at least two years related experience or a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resources, environmental studies, engineering, hydrology or closely related field.  Experience in flood control and drainage systems is preferred.
