Watershed Specialist

The Pike County Conservation District is excited to announce an opening for a Watershed Specialist to lead and elevate its water resource program. This dynamic role will play a critical part in safeguarding Pike County’s surface and groundwater resources by coordinating watershed assessments, crafting and implementing conservation strategies, managing technical and educational outreach, and securing vital grant funding. The ideal candidate will bring passion for environmental stewardship, expertise in watershed science and BMPs, and a community-driven spirit to help ensure Pike County’s water remains clean, abundant, and thriving for generations to come. Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, water resources management, biology, hydrology, or a closely related natural resource field and one to two years of related experience preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications for this position. Knowledge of GIS is a plus. Salary plus County benefits package; salary commensurate with experience. This position requires flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours to effectively engage with the community and support program activities.
