We are the Sherman County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) located in Moro, Oregon. We have a full-time position open for a Watershed Technician. 

In this position, you will provide outreach and technical assistance to landowners for programs offered and managed by the Sherman County SWCD and USDA.  The Technician provides support for the SWCD on grant submittals and tracking, and project implementation.

Required job skills:

  • Ability to write successful grant applications
  • Problem-solving ability with diverse groups of people
  • Knowledge of farming and ranching practices is essential
  • Knowledge of GIS  (ESRI ArcGIS preferred)
  • Knowledge of plant identification, including noxious weeds preferred

Education in any agriculture or natural resources field is beneficial along with a desire to work in rural Oregon. 

This role works independently with minimal supervision and is responsible for prioritizing daily work tasks, scheduling field work, and meetings. You will work in a variety of conditions, including local travel, field assignments throughout all seasons, and on-site work at our Moro office. A valid driver’s license is required.

The Technician position is full-time with a pay range of $21.21-$28.83 per hour depending on experience.
