Under the supervision of Jasper County SWCD Board of Supervisors and with direction from the Jasper County Commissioners, the District Watershed/Conservation Specialist and Program Manager will be responsible for providing leadership for the planning and implementation of countywide projects that will increase the adoption of practices and systems that improve soil and water health in both rural and urban landscapes, including invasive species identification and eradication. This individual will be responsible for the effective development and communication of technical data as related to soil and water resources to identify local needs and solutions. With those in mind, the incumbent will continuously seek outside funding and oversee current grant-funded projects to address llocal resource concerns. Other responsibilities include the planning, oversight and facilitation of District information/outreach efforts and the cultivation of relationships among local farmers and landowners, conservation partners, organizations, media, and public officials. The position works directly with other partnering agencies to achieve the District’s goals.
