This position independently performs technical, administrative, and paraprofessional activities related to the Department’s wildlife programs throughout the state to encourage, enable and enhance sound management of the region’s wildlife populations and ecosystems to  provide the environmental, economic and social benefits of healthy wildlife communities. 

Required qualifications for this position include all of the following:

  • Knowledge and education in Wildlife Management and Wildlife Conservation- including courses taken or paid or unpaid experiences in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Conservation, Wildlife Habitat Management, Biology, Ecology, or related fields.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery equipment such as skid-steers, agricultural tractors, excavators, etc.
  • Experience in manipulating wildlife habitats such as mechanical manipulation, prescribed fire, herbicide application, etc.

Best-qualified applicants will also have the following preferred qualifications:

  • Experience providing technical assistance to other government agencies, conservation organizations and other public constituencies that impact wildlife.
  • Possession of a valid CDL, commercials driver’s license, class A.
  • An earned bachelor’s degree or higher in wildlife management or a field closely related to wildlife management (biology, ecology).
