Core Responsibilities


  • Serve as CCF’s spokesperson to members, media, and general public.
  • Manage and execute CCF development, community outreach, programming, and administrative activities.
  • Work with the Board to develop the Strategic Plan; implement plan.
  • Recruit and manage PT Land Steward. Manage PT clerk.
  • Maintain current and relevant understanding of conservation and environmental issues impacting CCF mission
  • Oversee the recruitment and operations of part-time staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of CCF staff including conducting annual performance reviews.



  • Lead development and implementation of CCF’s fundraising strategy in concert with the Fundraising Committee.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key donors.
  • Organize and lead fundraising events.
  • Identify grant opportunities, collaborate w/grant committee in submissions.

Membership/Community outreach and engagement

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key organizations, individuals, agencies.
  • Represent CCF at relevant events.
  • Develop and manage all membership engagement strategies and activities.

Land Acquisition

  • Participate in the development of CCF’s land acquisition strategy; identify and prioritize parcels.
  • Oversee the acquisition of properties, coordinating with the Board, committees and Town of Chatham.
  • Represent or coordinate CCF negotiations with land owners in acquisition projects.

Land Stewardship

  • Develop the CCF land stewardship strategy, policies and methods in consultation with the Land Stewardship and Management Committee.
  • Oversee the operation of the land stewardship staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure the maintenance of digital records on CCF properties.


  • Develop the annual operating budget under the supervision of the Finance Committee and in coordination with the standing committees.
  • Ensure operating compliance with CCF finance and administrative policies and procedures according to best practices for not-for-profit organizations.
  • Review, approve, and manage contracts with Board oversight.


  • Oversee land management projects and contracts with abutters.
  • Prepare Town/State permits and land instruments.
  • Manage databases including QuickBooks, DonorSnap, and LANDSCAPE.
  • Organize paper and digital files to ensure long-term retention and easy access.
  • Report on activities at monthly board meetings and other committee meetings as necessary.
  • Oversee the administration of the Mayo House.
