What You Will Do:
The Operations Director provides leadership and management of all aspects of Golden Gate campus operations for the residential Environmental Science and Conference programs. This position is responsible for successful execution of all program logistics and exceptional customer service.
This position takes place at our Golden Gate Campus in the Marin Headlands near Sausalito, CA and cannot be performed remotely.
Your primary job will be:
Leadership & Strategy
- Ensure smooth program delivery and implementation through effective logistics systems.
- Identify and lead cross-departmental business process improvements and work interdepartmentally to optimize systems.
- Lead campus interdepartmental utilization of Salesforce.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of interdepartmental working agreements
- Partner with the Risk Management team to ensure the safety and security of staff, schools and programs; implement risk management training, and continue to update our systems.
- Support the development and oversight of annual budgets.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with the National Park Service and partners of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA).
- Support in planning and implementing grant-funded projects.
- Collaborate with other campus Operations Directors and Managers on national projects and to align campus practices with broader organizational initiatives.
Campus Operations & Administration
- Ensure compliance with federal and National Park Service health and safety standards.
- Manage logistics and support for interdepartmental administrative and office functions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all program participants, ensuring a positive and supportive program experience
- Monitor participant feedback and program evaluations to inform improvement of services and program quality.
- Manage operational systems, office supplies, equipment, and shared spaces to ensure efficiency and functionality
- Coordinate the On-Call Manager schedule.
- Oversee and participate in the campus urgent response system, ensuring timely support during weekends and evenings as needed.
- Establish and maintain respectful, supportive, and compassionate relationships with staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Compile and share weekly reports related to meals and facilities, maintaining regular communication with the relevant teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Staff Supervision
- Hire, train, supervise, and support the Operations Managers and their direct supervisees:
- 3 Operations Managers
- 8–12 Site and Evening Managers
- 2–4 Guest Experience Coordinators
- Provide backup support as needed for each direct report.

Compensation:
- $70,000-75,000 Annual Salary

Who You Are:
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Minimum five years of experience in nonprofit management, education administration, business administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, including building and supporting cross-functional teams, supervising staff, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. Experienced in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and relationship-centered leadership.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental stewardship, with a track record of integrating these values into workplace practices.
- Ability to design, implement, and refine operational systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across teams and programs.
- Adaptable and responsive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; comfortable with change and able to shift priorities as needed.
- High degree of professional integrity, accountability, and alignment with NatureBridge’s mission and values.
- Strong project management skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in planning, prioritization, and execution of multiple concurrent programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey logistical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Technologically proficient, with experience using Google Workspace, Salesforce, and other database management tools.
- Experience in risk management and crisis response, including the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as program needs require.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
