Position Overview:
The Center for Land-Based Learning is seeking a SLEWS (Student & Landowner, Education & Watershed Stewardship) Program Coordinator to operate programming in San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties. This position is full-time (average 40 hours/week) and works from Lodi, CA with travel within San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties and occasionally beyond. The SLEWS Program Coordinator position is essential in helping teach high school students leadership and workforce skills while becoming the next generation of agriculture leaders and natural resource stewards.

- Reports to: SLEWS Program Manager
- Location: Lodi, CA
- Classification: Non-exempt, Full-time
- Pay: $/hour: $25-30/hour

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and engaging individuals and communities across cultural and racial boundaries.
- Experience successfully engaging individuals across cultural and racial boundaries and learning styles.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience in agriculture, education, environmental science or related fields – Combination of work experience and education.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with youth in a formal (classroom) or informal (camp, program) setting preferred, including developing curriculum, evaluation and classroom management in an outdoor setting preferred.
- Confidence in teaching and managing groups of students, especially high school, in various settings.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with partners, teachers, and students.
Core Responsibilities:
Job duties include, but are not limited to planning, coordinating, and facilitating the San Joaquin & Sacramento SLEWS Program:
- Recruit and train industry partners, teachers, and students to participate in the SLEWS Program.
- Coordinate and facilitate approximately 4 to 7 projects with a total of 3 hands-on student field days per project during the school year.
- Develop, foster and maintain good relationships with longstanding supporters and program alumni.
- Collect and organize program paperwork, participant surveys and teacher feedback.
- Serve as a team member to the statewide SLEWS Program and Youth Programs Teams.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
